Beer Pong Tips

Beer pong can be a very fun and enjoyable to play. There are some tips everyone should know that make the game a little more exciting and safe for everyone. So sit back grab a cold brew and read along as I explain these tips.

There have always been health concerns about beer pong like sharing cups, throwing a ball that can potentially have a disease into someone's cup, etc. Not too far in the past, (as you probably remember) the H1N1 virus was on the verge of becoming spread nationwide; beer pong was said to have aided in what could have been an epidemic. You probably wouldn't mind if you were missing class or work, but not a beer pong game. There are easy ways to prevent you from being vulnerable to disease. A solution to not being sick (besides a headache in the morning) is to use water instead of beer. Relax; keep reading because I am not saying "don't drink beer". It's a simple idea, fill your table cups with water and keep a personal cup handy. When a shot from the opposing team is made, take out the water cup and poor beer into your own personal drinking cup. There you have it, no dirty virus in your cup of beer. If you play professionally (or are in training), this is also good to use because most tournaments are played with good old H2O.

Using water in the table cups is not only healthy, but it will also save on the beer required for the game. You can save a lot of money if you are hosting a party by buying a keg; especially if you like top shelf beer. We all know today's economy has gone down the tubes; so, consider getting 16 oz. reusable plastic cups. Buying reusable cups saves you money and it is also better for the environment. Save some green and go green!

You should be a responsible player and a responsible party host. You don't want guests or friends to get injured or (god forbid) die because of your party. Try to alternate teams instead of "Winner challenges next team." This way, everyone gets a break and there is a chance for everyone to play. You should also make sure that car keys have been checked in before the game and there is enough sleeping room for people to stay overnight if needed.

Deciding to build a table from wood can take hours and you should make sure to have the tools and materials on hand. Nobody is going to wait that long. When people are ready to play beer pong and you have to figure out what to use for a table, that's the worst. If you take the table from your house, such as, the kitchen table, you risk getting the table destroyed. Buying a new table and still not having a good table to play the game on is a waste of money and time. Your money and efforts would be better spent if you bought a real beer pong table. It's simple to set up, easy to clean, and putting it away is as easy as closing a suitcase.

Most likely, you will be spilling water or beer while playing; so try to stay away from carpeted areas. The playing area where you are going to set up the beer pong table should meet certain requirements, such as, basement floor or a tile floor. These surfaces are stain and water resistant and easier to clean. The back deck or yard is the best area to play if the weather permits because there is almost no clean up (besides beer and water is good for the grass). For accurate shooting, try placing the table in a place with overhead light. Make sure to have enough room to take a shot and fist pump. Regulation eight foot beer pong tables require al least twelve feet of total playing room.

Have fun! This is the most important tip off all. Beer pong is a great social game with friendly competition to go along with it. You will never have a boring party when there is a game of beer pong going on. So, until next time, "Have a great game!" Just remember to save money, be healthy, be responsible, make sure you pick the right spot, and you will always have a good beer pong game with lots of good times.
